International Love - World Music
International Love based in the Washington DC area plays an eclectic mix of reggae, funk, R&B, Latin jazz and originals.
The band offers up a worldly mixture of music in unity from its members who are from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Africa, and the U.S.
The band consists of two long-time husband and wife musical duos – the Jacksons (25 years) with Gina on lead vocals and Billy on bass/vocals and the Stewarts (13 years) with Becky on keys/vocals and Slam on drums.
Gina and Billy, owners of B&G Productions, produced and wrote songs for their “All Things” (R&B) and “Spiritually United” (gospel) albums in the 90’s after Billy’s stint in the Army as a touring bassist for a USO band traveling throughout Japan and Germany.
Becky and Slam own and operate a music studio, SlamOne, LLC south of D.C., where both write, arrange, record, and teach music. Slam toured the world as a drummer in the 90’s playing with artists such as blues guitarist/singer/songwriter, Deborah Coleman, and Skeeter Brandon and Highway 61.
The couples are teamed up with lead vocalist, Mohamed Dumbuya, of Fulani Brothers fame and guitarist Haroun Kamara, both originally from Sierra Leone, Africa.
The band is topped off by Puerto Rican-American, Daphne Cashion, who is an extraordinary in-demand D.C. area saxophonist,.
And last but not least world-renowned Conguero Alberto Limonta “Limon” Perez, born in Havana, Cuba to get you moving and grooving! Highly regarded in Cuba, Limon was a percussionist and vocalist with the legendary Havana rumba group "Clave y Guaguanco".
Come and see this great mix of players who wonderfully spice up the music for your enjoyable pleasure!
